Privacy Policy

Kidu is a school organization app intended for parents and guardians. Parents use Kidu to manage child profiles, schedules, homework, preparation tasks, reminders, and educational references. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it to operate the app.

Kidu is not intended for children to create accounts or make purchases on their own. Parents and guardians are responsible for the information they choose to enter about their family.

1. Parent-Directed Use

Because Kidu may contain child-related school information entered by a parent or guardian, we handle that data carefully and do not sell it. We do not knowingly invite children under 13 to create accounts, provide contact information, or purchase subscriptions.

  • Accounts, subscriptions, and account deletion are parent/guardian-controlled.
  • We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
  • We do not sell personal data or child-related school data.

2. What We Collect

We collect the information needed to provide Kidu's app features:

  • Account data: email address, display name, authentication provider identifiers, and encrypted authentication data handled by our authentication provider.
  • Child profile data: child name or nickname, gender, selected color, and school schedule information entered or uploaded by the parent.
  • Schedule and study data: schedule rows, subjects, lessons, homework, tasks, preparation progress, completion states, saved educational media references, and reminders.
  • Uploads: images or PDFs of school schedules that you choose to upload for scanning and schedule extraction.
  • Settings and usage limits: language, theme, notification preferences, weekly scan counts, and a device identifier used to prevent abuse of free scan limits.
  • Subscription data: plan status and purchase/entitlement information provided by App Store, Google Play, or RevenueCat.

3. Schedule & AI Handling

When you upload a schedule image or PDF, Kidu sends the file to secure processing services so the app can read school subjects, lessons, dates, and related schedule details. AI results may be inaccurate, so parents should review generated schedules before relying on them.

Extracted schedule data is stored in your Kidu account so the app can show your schedule, homework, preparation, and reminder views. Uploaded files are used for processing and are not sold or used for advertising.

4. YouTube API Services

Kidu utilizes YouTube API Services to provide relevant educational video references, lesson materials, and video titles. By using or accessing YouTube video features in Kidu, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

  • Google Privacy Policy: Data accessed or processed via YouTube API Services is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
  • YouTube Data Usage: Kidu accesses YouTube API data solely to locate, organize, and display educational video links for lessons selected by parents/guardians. We do not sell YouTube API data or use it for advertising.
  • Access & Revocation: Users can view and revoke Kidu's access to their YouTube API data via the Google Security Settings page.

5. Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to operate Kidu, including cloud database/authentication services, file processing and AI services, app store payment systems, RevenueCat for subscription entitlement status, notification services, and YouTube or other educational links opened from the app.

These providers process data only as needed to provide app functionality, security, billing, support, and legal compliance. We do not sell personal data and we do not display third-party ads.

6. Data Deletion & Rights

Parents retain control over family data. You can delete your account in the app by going to Settings > Account > Delete Account. You can also request deletion at kidu.myhabitline.com/delete-account.

Account deletion removes your parent profile and associated app data, including child profiles, schedules, homework records, tasks, preparation status, reminders, and saved app content. Limited records may be retained where required for security, fraud prevention, billing records, legal compliance, or backup integrity.
