At Kidu, we are dedicated to protecting the privacy of young learners. This Privacy Policy details how we collect, handle, secure, and process information from parents and students who use the Kidu application.

Kidu is designed specifically for children and families under parental supervision. We implement rigorous structural protections to guarantee a safe, ads-free learning dashboard.

1. Child Safety & COPPA Compliance

Our service complies fully with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not collect personal identifiers from children without explicit, verified parental consent.

We do not encourage children to provide personal information.
All registration and payment setups must be initiated and completed by parents.
We do not share, sell, or rent any child's data to third parties or advertising brokers under any circumstances.

2. What We Collect

To deliver a personalized homework planner and subject study helper, Kidu collects minimal information categorized into two areas:

A. Parent/Registrant Account Data: Email address, parent account name, and encrypted credential hashes.

B. App Usage & Timetable Data:

Kid Profiles: Custom child nicknames or initials, grade levels, and customized colors.
Timetable Scans: Images, photographs, or PDFs of school timetables uploaded to map calendars. (Uploaded images are parsed and immediately deleted once extracted).
Study Activity: Homework lists, completion states, exam timetables, and custom subject preferences.
Device IDs: Non-personal unique device identifier hashes (used exclusively to enforce scanning limits to prevent server abuse).

3. AI Timetable Handling

We respect your privacy. Schedule photos and PDFs you upload are processed securely by our AI to map calendar subjects, and then deleted from our servers. Your child's study data is stored securely and linked only to your parental account.

We do not share, sell, or rent personal data to third parties. We do not display third-party advertisements inside our app. Your child's study dashboard is clean, educational, and free from external tracking brokers.

5. Data Deletion & Rights

Parents retain full control over their family data. You can choose to delete children's profiles or the entire parent account directly from the in-app settings screen at any time. Selecting "Delete Account" instantly and permanently removes all profiles, homework items, and schedules from our databases.
